Teresa's Kindergarten uses "developmentally appropriate" teaching practices
to suit both the needs and levels of the children. To put it simply, our teachers
think first about what young children are like and then create an environment
and experiences that are in tune with their characteristics. Our teachers
make learning relevant, interesting and fun. Children in our kindergarten learn
through individual, small group teaching and whole class activities. They are
encouraged to Wonder, Think, Feel and Imagine. Our qualified and experienced
Early Childhood teachers make use of thematic learning. The themes are related
to daily life experiences, children's interests and current happenings. The main
emphasis is on the key learning areas of English, Early Mathematics, Science,
Arts and Crafts, Music, Cooking, Health, Physical Education and Personal Development.
Special Activities and Outings: To
enhance what is being taught in class, children are often taken out on school
outings and the beach among other places. Parent
Involvement: To facilitate learning among children, all parents are
encouraged to participate and help out in special activities and outings of the
kindergarten.
